The special origin of lava stone

Lava stone forms during a volcanic eruption, when hot lava flows down the flanks of a volcano. During cooling and hardening, the recognizable rough and porous structure develops. Sometimes sand and small stones become fused with the lava. These natural inclusions can remain visible in the surface and emphasize the volcanic origin of the material.

No two pieces of lava stone are the same. Differences in shape, color, structure, and small natural openings are inherent to the material and make every bowl completely unique.

Use the bowl as a sturdy base for a large lantern, moss, plants, flower bulbs, or changing seasonal decorations. Even without anything inside, it is a powerful decorative object on a large table, low cabinet, or robust kitchen counter.
